Important Recital Information
There will be a MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL on Monday, June 12th. Please see page for more info.
There will be NO parents allowed backstage (unless designated as a backstage helper by Bay Area Dance School staff)
Please label all of your child's tights, shoes, dance bags, hairbrushes and any other items they bring backstage.
As a reminder, the last day of classes will be Saturday, June 10th. Summer camps begin June 5th.
Arrival Time for Dancers
Please arrive 30 minutes early if your dancer is in the first act of the show.
We will have dressers and backstage helpers ready to assist dancers on the day of the show.
Costumes
Costumes will be kept at the theatre prior to the recital and dancers will take all costumes home after the show.
Please make sure that costumes stay in the theatre after the Dress Rehearsal ends!
All jazz, lyrical, and tap classes will be expected to wear tan stirrup tights with the applicable shoes (or barefoot for lyrical).
Shoes and Tights
Please bring the required tights, shoes, and undergarments for each of your child’s dances to both the Dress Rehearsal and the Recital.
All ballet classes will be expected to wear pink tights with ballet shoes.
Hair
All students will wear their hair in a bun for all performances.
Hair and makeup should be done before arrival at the theatre for both Dress Rehearsal and Recital.
Extra hair spray and some supplies will be available for touch-ups during the show, but dancers are expected to arrive ready to go.
Make-Up
Children's make-up should be basic and tasteful. Berry colored lips. Light eyeshadow in earth tones. Rosy blush. Mascara and eyeliner is optional.
Young Dancers (under 10)
Children should be picked up and signed out when they are done performing.
If they would like to sit in the audience, they will need a ticket for a seat.
Recital Videos
Recital recordings will be available for purchase online following the show via the Playback Memories website. A follow up email will be sent regarding the specifics of how to purchase these disks.
